Mexican or Latino Hero in New “Moon Men” Novel

Donald Trump’s statements about Mexicans and Latinos originate within deep prejudices that are harbored by angry older white people in the United States. If you happen to maintain the same or similar prejudices against Mexicans or Latinos as Trump, then you should not read my science fiction novel, Baja Clavius.

Baja Clavius, a science fiction time travel novel, prominently features a Mexican or Latino hero. His name is Theodore Avila, the narrator of the book.

The exact heritage of time travel agent Avila in the book is left open to your individual interpretation. But, the character’s surname can readily by found in both Portuguese and Hispanic populations today. It is pronounced differently in various regions where the name is found. For example, in Avila Beach in San Luis Obispo County, California, the first letter of Avila is pronounced like the first letter of Apple.
